Delta Base 540 Track

The Delta Base 540 rig was designed for dam exploration with the ability to climb a 2:1 slope and set up and drill within minutes. The tower design allows the tracks to rest on the slope while the tower is set at an angle to provide a true vertical bore hole.

Specifications:

  • Pull back 33,700 lbs.
  • Pull down 22,480 lbs.
  • Rotary torque 7,500 ft lbs.
  • Rotary max speed 550 RPM
  • Main line winch 12,800 lbs.
  • Wireline 900 lbs.
  • Auxiliary winches 4,000 & 3,000 lbs.
  • 140 lb. Auto hammer
  • 3L8 Moyno pump
  • Bean 45 pump

The Delta Base 540 is a multipurpose rig allowing an operator to incorporate multiple drilling techniques on challenging projects. The rigs torque (0 - 7,000 ft lbs) reduces the chance of breaking Tubex (under reamer) tools. The 0-550 RPM coring speed maximizes rock coring penetration rates regardless of the formation.

These two techniques in combination provide a cased borehole through the overburden, such as cobbles and boulders, and permit a wireline core system to continue drilling out the bottom of the cased borehole. Coring and rotary depth capabilities exceed 1,000 feet.

The Delta Base 540 performs the following drilling techniques:

  • NQ and HQ wireline coring
  • Packer testing
  • Tubex
  • Air and Mud rotary drilling
  • DHH
  • NW and HWT casing advancer
  • Hollow stem augers
